week 14/52- you

thought i would make a collage of my fav things
like the kids, travel, books & food..
and then didn’t- i got distracted & my photos started looking very obscure!! i thought no one would get them anyway
my fav red shoes, my messy diary, my keys, my camera
as it rained everyday for the month of august
i’ve ended up picking a selection of views
that show sligo’s beauty (rather than the bleak & dreary wet days)

i’m guessing from the lack of submissions
my idea didn’t go down too well with the other members!!

27th august

well yesterday was my b’day (the whole day!!)
& to be honest i wasn’t feeling great- not be’cos it was my b’day
but be’cos of a terrible excema flare up i’m having at the moment,
apart from the severe pain & discomfort i look like the elephant man,
when you are swollen puffy & red with scales falling off everywhere,
it’s hard to feel good, hard to sleep well with the continous itching,
& harder to be civil (let alone going out to face the world)
still i had to put on a brave face… b’days aren’t just for me,
i think my children enjoy the day far more,
1st they worked hard on an enormous b’day sign
which covered one side of the whole kitchen, 2ndly they spent all day cooking & singing for me… relentlessly,
i had food & good will coming out of my ears,
luckily i had my IBC (invisible b’day crown) on
which gives me rights so i can command from the couch
where i spent most of the day curled up with a book
& a box of chocolates… beautiful lindt choc’s,
it’s really all i needed

just spent a few days in london
and luckily for me the weather was brilliant!!
so wandering aimlessly along southbank
i stumbled upon a 2nd hand book sale
which suited me down to the ground
for this weeks photo challenge!!

insects aren’t really my thing but do you think i could find one when i wanted one??!! apart from the odd fly…
the girls & i were out “hunting” for beetles, bugs & butterflies
& this was about the best i could do

a tree with little personal treasures left by people
praying for miracles, it’s a stunning sight
but makes me feel overwhelming sadness
